no c wire

Hey all, I have a furnace and radiant baseboard heating. So my thermostat it uses the typical 3 wire configuration.

If I am understanding correctly I can repurpose the green wire as a c wire, however i would lose independent fan control.

But correct me if I am wrong, this wouldn’t have any impact since it’s radiant baseboard heat any not forced hot air.

Thanks!.

Answer:

A thermostat controlling a boiler heating Zone, its in principle of two wire configuration but with the third wire, green would be common, assuming that its connected accordingly at both ends. The question becomes what you have in the way of controls on the boiler or the zone controls if you have zoning, because that determines whats possible.
